A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between PTT Information Technologies Inc. (PTT Technology) and Bin Taşıma ve Akıllı Şehir Teknolojileri Inc. (BinBin) to increase cooperation in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), improve services offered to end users, and develop new services.
PTT Technology, the operator of Turkey’s first domestically produced MaaS platform, TRota, and BinBin, Turkey’s leading micromobility company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase cooperation in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), improve services offered to end users, and develop new services. Under the protocol, various collaborations will be developed between BinBin, the micromobility company serving 19 cities in five countries worldwide, and PTT Technology, the operator of the TRota Mobility as a Service (MaaS) application. In this context, the aim is to integrate existing applications in the ITS field, carry out joint R&D projects in the ITS and mobility fields, establish partnerships related to ongoing projects, and provide mutual convenience in technical and administrative matters for activities related to existing ITS products and services.
BinBin CEO Kadir Abdik expressed his great pleasure in the collaboration with PTT Technology, saying: “Since our founding in 2019, we have been playing an active role in our country’s transformation journey in micromobility. Over the past four years, we have made the micromobility culture an integral part of city life. In addition to cities with this experience, we are focusing on expanding our service network in cities where we can further expand this culture. We believe that our collaboration with PTT Technology will be a significant step in the growth of the micromobility sector in our country. In this way, we aim to add further value to the micromobility ecosystem by establishing collaborations that meet the needs and expectations of our business partners.”
PTT Technology General Manager Ali Taşkın stated, “With our TRota MaaS application, which we are currently developing, we aim to offer our citizens an end-to-end transportation experience. Across various modes of transportation, including intercity public transportation, urban public transportation, and shared vehicles, all TRota-integrated service providers will be accessible through a single application. Route planning, payment, and reservations will be handled through a single application, enabling the use of multiple transportation modes through a single application for a more efficient journey. In this context, we place great importance on micromobility vehicles, which play a complementary role, particularly in the last mile—that is, the final mile of public transportation on main arterial roads. We believe that this collaboration with BinBin will play a significant role in the development of a holistic transportation approach in our country and the growth of the micromobility and smart transportation sectors.”
TRota, currently under development, will soon be operational in Konya, offering access to other modes of transportation in addition to the public transportation offered by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality.
